There is always a song sequence in colleges, ensuing between the hero and his friends and the heroine and her friends. The poor hero in college has normally sworn abstinence of women and will be relentlessly pursued by a rich man's daughter who will normally turn out to be the killer of the hero's father. The hero and his cronies are the `lukhaas' of the college. The hero accepts a challenge from the buddies to `patao' the new girl and then zealously pursues the damsel. When the girl falls head over heels, she finds the truth and a showdown occurs. This in turn is a sure way of making sure that true love happens between the sobbing couple. In the slightly older genre, the collegian hero looked shamefully forty and was always surrounded by several cronies, each of whom (including the hero) carried one book. Hero normally wears a Kurta or half-sleeve shirt, seldom tucked in. The only guy in a T-shirt would be a villain.
