If a brother ever addresses his sister as 'pagli' or says to his mother 'iske haath peele kar do' it is a sure sign that she will be raped/murdered/both.
The father is always an honest person who is trying to rid a village of crime, or is refusing to bear false testimony in favor of the villain. He is practically always shot in the beginning.
Except in the case of double-roles, the father dies and the widowed mother raises the kids. In the case of double-roles (father and son same actor), the mother is raped and murdered by the villain and the father is indicted and packed off to jail until the son attains adulthood. In such cases, the older hero always dies, since his wife is dead. In fact any hero whose wife/woman is dead dies.
In case of heroes who are brothers, they are seldom on the same side of the law. If they do not know of each other's existence, they are almost surely enemies. If one brother is a police inspector, the other is definitely a criminal. Normally, the older one is the uneducated criminal since he has to enter the world of crime to pay the school fees of his brother.
