  • The comedian is usually the hero's sidekick / manservant, heroine's mama, moronic wimp who wants to marry the heroine or the neighborhood provision store owner.
    Comedian's are of two kinds:
    1. The guy who is on the hero's side: he gets to make fun of others.
    2. The guy who the hero has nothing much to do with: he makes a fool of himself.
If the comedian is a friend of the hero (Mahmood / Johnny Lever), then he plays pranks on the villains and occasionally makes a slight fool of himself.
If the comedian is a general retard (Rajendranath / Jagdeep / Laxmikant Berde) he will make faces and resort to slapstick to pull out laughs. There will be at least one scene in which his clothes will come off, and he always wears blue striped boxer shorts underneath.
